The Armada in Spanish Point has announced details of its annual Festival of Music & Dancing during Willie Clancy Week from 5th to 14th July 2019.
The 10-day programme of set dancing sessions and country music dancing coincides with Willie Clancy Week in nearby Miltown Malbay, the hometown of the late Piper Willie Clancy.
Robert Mizzell, The Abbey Ceili Band, Declan Nerney and Shandrum Ceili Band are among the acts lined up to take part in the 36th annual event.
The 10-day event is complemented by social dancing in the Ocean Marquee on the grounds of the Armada Hotel along with fireside sessions in Johnny Burke's Pub, a Festival Club in The Ocean Bar, sing songs, dance classes and an extensive range of dining and drink options.
'Keeping It Country'at the Ocean Marquee features 8 nights of dancing from 9.30pm, with performances from Robert Mizzell, Declan Nerney, Ciaran Rosney, Brendan Shine Band, Michael Collins & Band, Pj Murrihy & Band, Olivia Douglas and Trudi Lalor.
'Armada Set Dancing Week' features daily afternoon (3-6pm) and night-time sessions (9.30pm-1.00am) kicking off on Friday 5th July with The Dalcais Ceili Band performing in the Ocean Bar.
Other afternoon/night-time events include Shandrum, Ceol Na Mara, Johnny Reidy Ceili Band, The Abbey, Striolan, Salamanca, Deenagh, Rise the Dust, Swallows Tail, Ui Bhriain, Ken Kelleher and a ceili with Mark Burke, Alan Finn, Brian Donellan & Conor Hartnet.
The festival concludes on Sunday 14th July with a farewell céilí featuring the Johnny Reidy Céilí Band.
