The Winterage, Armada's new Winter Wedding Package
THERE’S A NEW MAGIC TO WINTER WEDDINGS NOW AT THE ARMADA HOTEL, SPANISH POINT
There’s a special magic about winter in Ireland, especially in the spectacular setting of West Clare – a bracing walk on the beach, frost glinting on a bare branch and the spectacular sight of the Atlantic waves pounding the shore from a cosy vantage point.
What better setting, then, for the most important day of a couple’s life than the four-star Armada Hotel, Spanish Point and their new wedding package, aptly titled The Winterage.
Wedding guests gather for a night-before get-together in the cosy surroundings of Johnny Burke’s pub for a fireside session where they can enjoy craft beers, Irish whiskeys and legendary Irish craic in anticipation of the big day.
On the day itself, the wedding party and their guests are greeted at The Armada’s door with the lilt of traditional airs provided by local musicians, and warmed with winter broth and homemade bread and a mulled craft cider in a cosy countryside-inspired setting. And as the gloom of evening falls outside, warm candlelight dances across the walls as the guests settle down to the main event – a five course wedding feast featuring the best of seasonal and local produce, and accompanied by perfectly chosen wines. A beautifully designed – and delicious - Wedding Cake by Naomi is also provided.
When the guests have danced that off, revellers are revived late into the evening with an after-midnight snack of Irish Stew and Crusty Loaf.
Brunch is provided the following morning for late risers and what better way to blow away the cobwebs than wrapping up warm, and taking a refreshing beach walk, soaking in the magnificent setting of The Armada Hotel. All residents are then sent home with a parting gift of delicious homemade brown bread, and Dooliner Beer.
The Armada Hotel has added a slew of awards to their already-heavy shelf in 2015, having been declared the Irish Wedding Venue of the Year at the prestigious weddingsonline 2015 awards in February, as well as the Waterside Venue of the Year, Website of the Year and Venue Co-Ordinator of the year, for Marita Morrissey.
Speaking after the awards event, Armada-owner, John Burke said; “This is a landmark moment for us, as it rewards the hard work and creative input of the General Manager, the hotel staff and other management, in establishing the facility as a leading wedding venue”.
This year sees the celebration of 31 years of weddings at the historic Clare venue which stands on the site of what was once the biggest hotel in Ireland and Britain. And with more than 100 weddings booked for 2015, weddings are at the very core of what The Armada Hotel does, as it constantly looks to the future to create and execute the most innovative, desirable and special events for couples from all over Ireland and abroad.
The Winterage wedding package is available in January, February and November and on selected dates in March and December 2016 at the excellent price of €49 per head.
